DUMKIO REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT PLATFORM

DUMKIO LIMITED (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the DUMKIO PLATFORM, a digital real estate management platform connecting landlords, tenants, and property managers.

We are committed to protecting personal data in compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2019.

2. SCOPE

This Privacy Policy applies to; All users of the Platform, visitors to our website and applications and parties whose data is processed through the Platform.

3. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT

Dumkio collects the following data from users;

3.1 Identification Data; Name, ID/Passport number, KRA PIN, Contact details (email, phone number)

3.2 Property & Transaction Data; Lease details, Rent payments, Property ownership/management information

3.3 Technical Data; IP address, Device information, Log and usage data

3.4 Communication Data, Messages between users, Customer support interactions

4. PURPOSE OF PROCESSING

We process personal data to:

  • Provide and operate the Platform;
  • Facilitate landlord-tenant interactions;
  • Process payments and generate reports;
  • Verify identities (KYC);
  • Comply with legal obligations;
  • Provide a tenant rental history where required;
  • Improve services and security.

5. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING

Processing is based on:

  • Consent of the data subject;
  • Performance of a contract;
  • Compliance with legal obligations;
  • Legitimate interests (e.g., fraud prevention, system security).

(i) Payment service providers; (ii) IT and cloud service providers; (iii) Professional advisors; (iv) Regulatory authorities where required, (v) Market analysts of user behaviour.

We retain personal data only as long as legally required for tax purposes,tenant rental history reporting, dispute resolution and for contractual purposes. The user consents to the collection, processing and retention of this Data

  • Object to processing;
  • Withdraw consent;
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).

We use cookies to; Improve user experience, analyse usage and maintain security.

12. PAYMENTS AND BILLING

Where applicable, digital services purchased within the mobile app shall comply with Google Play billing requirements. The Platform may use third party payments providers and as such does not guarantee successful transactions and is not liable for payment failures or delays. Any subscription terms will be disclosed before purchase.

13. PERMISSIONS AND DEVICE DATA

The Platform may request access to; Internet/network connectivity, storage(for documents, downloads and uploads), and notifications.

14. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

The Platform may contain links to third-party services. Dumkio is not responsible for their privacy practices.

15. CHILDREN’S DATA

The Platform is not intended for persons under 18. We do not knowingly collect children’s data.

15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Dumkio reserves the right to amend/change this privacy policy with 7 days notice to the users within the platform.
